The work of one of the greatest Bulgarian builders who worked in the second half of the nineteenth century – the final transition to New Bulgarian architecture.
The work of the first master Gencho Kanev (1829-1890) reflects that essential symbiosis, called the “spirit of the age”, which turned his buildings into valuable monuments of Bulgarian architectural history.
His oeuvre includes dozens of building sites.
The form of organization of architectural and construction work, which he created even before the Liberation, proves that Bulgarian development in the second half of the century was realized in sync with European development.
