Professional CV

Donika Georgieva is a PhD architect, lecturer in cultural heritage conservation at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia.
She has specialized in Greece, USA, Luxembourg, Australia and Serbia.
Researcher in the field of heritage, author of many articles and one book – “Access to Cultural Heritage”.
Donika is the co-founder of Atelier 3, an award-winning architecture studio based in Sofia.
Their work focuses on the conservation and interpretation of cultural heritage sites of varying scale and typology.
Their contemporary approach is guided by the motto “Careful with context”.
In their projects, the studio takes into account all historical, cultural and social layers and strives to interpret context to create environments that engage, excite and inspire.
They work to incorporate archaeological sites – among their more famous realisations are the St.
Mary Magdalene (2016) and the Triangular Tower of Serdica (2017).
They are also the authors of several museum exhibitions, including Ada Tepe (2022) and Vratsa Treasures (2023).
